Roof Top Roses — Image 9-1
A digital painting based upon an original photograph.

Starting as a digital photograph, this print has transformed into an interperted painted image

Roof Top Rose Epilog

A couple of weeks ago
just before Halloween,
i cleaned out my gutters.
while roofing it,
a triple bloom rose stem was punctuating the area above the kitchen door roof line,
where the western most down spout is located.
At that moment in time's continuum,
the ensemble consisted of one fully mature blossoming pink to yellow  bloom
backed up by 2 eager and healthy red buds.

I was sorely tempted to snip this trio before their planed prime was fulfilled
and carry them off to the sanctum of my inner dwelling space
to rest their days in still waters amongst century old Ball jar glass.
in the past, often, these buds fail to fill their natural destiny when resigned to the bud vase
and rather wither and fade, as vintage heirloom roses are prone,
the promise of a full bloom never satisfied.

Knowing this,
and,
having no clippers at hand,
just a leaf blower and bucket of debris,
I elected to allow destiny to follow its own path.
In short passage of time,
the first full blossom peaked its glorious solo,
and, alas, faded forward to its rose hip fate.
Sustained and nourished by sun and stem,
the twin buds entered stage center,
and presided over an autumn backdrop of deepening greens and contrast,
before the chorus of fall colors closely following,
join their brilliant pink, yellow, and magenta petals;
that imminent  last crescendo of summer
enjoining each individual member to voice their departing glory in concert.

Well,
looking up from the driveway,
the 2 roses stood out in high contrast against the green turning leaves at a pink sunset lighting,
so here it is, before the petals join with number 1.
